The landscape of the Ebro Delta has a great personality that gives it a unique character throughout Catalonia. On the inside we can find areas of vegetable areas and fruit-bearing trees, especially large and extensive rice fields which change according to the time of the year.
It hosts an information center and an ornithological museum that shows a complete collection of the most representative of the local fauna.
Outside "Casa de fusta", across the street, there is an observation tower from which you can see a broad view of the Encanyissada lagoon of the Ebro Delta
Its main function is to introduce newcomers to the peculiar world of the Delta, especially in the running of natural and human aspects of its ecosystem.
It has different thematic parts, the distribution that conforms at the same time the routes we have to follow.
It is the smallest lagoon in the Ebro Delta with 54 ha.
The conventional environments that you can find are a coastal lagoon, a brackish interesting area between the beach and the lagoon, a well established and fixed dune formation and the Fangar Bay important both for wintering seabirds as shellfish activities practiced.
It is a sandy peninsula in the Ebro Delta. It is crossed by a compacted sand track where you can run or walk to the observation hide, the Lighthouse or the northern tip of the peninsula.
You can also see the marina bay or the Fangar Harbor where the shellfish proliferates.
Beware of illusions, they are an optical effect that will have you believe that there is water through the Fangar, even you seem to see cars circulating in the water, but it is not true.
It is the largest lagoon in the north or the left hand side of the Ebro Delta. Current access is limited to a private observation hide which is reached from a road diversion of Deltebre in Riumar.
From the observation hide you can see apart from its aquatic fauna, a roost of Ardeidae (herons) and raptors (hawks), outside the breeding season.
The area of the mouth of the River Ebro includes the protected natural areas of Garxal, the Isle of San Antonio and the Buddha Isle.
The only visited area is the left bank of the river to Garxal. This is a walk of about 2.5 kilometers that should be done by bike or on foot. Along the route you will find several observation hides and signage that will complement the information.
It is the old mouth of the Ebro that runs along the Buda Isle for 3.5 kilometers ending at the beach of the same name. The Buda Isle is across the Migjorn.
This area is a good observation point for birds of prey, ducks, waders and herons since they move between Buda and Alfacada continuously.
It can be visited from the path of Baladres, a paved road about 3 kilometers which borders the lagoon on the east.
You can turn around the lagoon in one go or in two stretches. It is recommended to go by car or bike.
It is a very rich journey since it travels a very specific environment as the ancient salt flats.
Inside the lagoon is common to see flamingos and many species of ducks of the Ebro Delta.
It is a Partial Natural Reserve. Access is restricted.
The atmosphere is very interesting there. The Alfacs Bay is the home of a large number of waterfowl and sea birds during the winter. The Trabucador, despite being a very processed at present is a good bird observatory point both in the open ocean and interior. But the most interesting environment is the salt flats that still work and where you can see the buckets of salt concentration filled of sea birds.
It is the largest lagoon in the Ebro Delta.
There is the possibility of going around the lagoon, with stretches of paved road and other unpaved.
You can see from the road to la Ràpita in Poble Nou del Delta, across the lagoon, the oldest art of fixed fishing in Catalonia, the funnel Pantene.
There are about 40 sources of the river in the Ebro Delta, 15 are within the boundaries of the Park and the rest are privately owned.
It is the only freshwater environment around the Delta. We find several rare amphibian species in the Delta and one of the few places where water lilies are spontaneously in Catalonia. The Ullals (sources of the river) are suggestions of groundwater of the rain from the mountains of Els Ports and Montsià.
